Dyed My Hair Again!!

Hey ladies, just wanted to share with you my new hair color. I haven’t dyed it since last summer so my color was super faded and grown out. I really wanted to go like a honey blonde but the last time I went to the hairdresser she said it wouldn’t be a good idea cause my hair was still red. Seeing that I didn’t want to end up with no hair on my head, I went and dyed back to the same color as last time. I used L’Oreal Preference in RP06 Intense Red. I really loving how the color turned out, this time around I’m going to try and up keep with the color and not let it fade out so much. As well I need to get a haircut ASAP, my bangs are super long.

New Hair!

Hey ladies, just stopping by to share with you my new hair cut!! I went and got my hair texturized and cut yesterday night. It’s been 8 months since my last texturizer and I was seriously in need for one. I was quite surprised that my hair actually grew, this is the longest it’s been in ages. I really wanted to cut it off but I’m so happy it’s getting long that I decided to shave the sides instead. I actually really like it and I plan on keeping it for a while. To my surprise even my mom likes it; I was totally expecting to cuss and scream about it.

Well I love it, what do you think of it?

Deep Conditioning...

Hey ladies, I haven’t done a post on my hair in forever. Lately I haven’t really been in the mood to take care of it at all. But it snowed last week and again yesterday and with the dryer weather I need to put more time and effort into my hair. Today was the first time I deep conditioned in over a year I believe, I’m not 100% sure. But it has been a good 6 months since the last time I did it. Anyways, I washed my hair with the Marcoon Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Then I used the Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Conditioning Treatment; I sat under the dryer with it for about 20 minutes as well. Then I rinsed it out. I detangled my hair with a wide tooth comb and roped twisted it up. Hopefully I will get to post a picture of how my hair looks tomorrow after I take out the twists.

Pic 2: After I got out from under the dryer

Princess' Hair

Hey ladies, I'm finally learning to cornrow hair. I never grew up knowing how to do hair and I made myself a promise the day I found out I was having a girl that I would learn. I've been practicing over the last few months when she will sit for me to do her hair and I'm starting to get pretty good in my books and just wanted to share with your my progress. I can't do anything fancy or anything like that but atleast they look pretty neat and tidy.

New Hair Color

Hey ladies, so I recently dyed my hair red and black. I used L'Oreal Preference in RP06 Intense Red and 2 Natural Black. The red isn't very bright but it's a beautiful deep red. I place this color on top, so basically the crown area. Next I placed the black on the bottom half, so basically when I put my hair down you see mainly red. I really love how it turned out. I finally straighten it last week so I could take pictures to show you guys. I still need to get a cut and get a few tracks put in. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks, I get that done.

So look out for more updates on my hair :)

Twists!

Hey ladies I haven’t posted anything about my hair in such a long time. So I thought I would come show you the twists I did. Honestly I hate doing small twists, cause it seems to take forever. But today I was feeling kind of bored, so I did a co-wash and twisted up my hair. This is the smallest I have ever done. But I think I did a pretty good job and it came out really good. I’m completely loving it, hopefully it will last till Friday. And then I can do a twist out :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Quick Weave

Hey guys, how are you doing today? I hope everyone is having a blessed day. I been watching a lot of videos lately on youTube about quick weaves and I have decided I’m going to try and do my very first one. I will be attempting it some time later this week. I’m going to be using the Sensationnel Bump Collection in Feather Wrap. It’s human hair as well. When I have completed it, I will set up a posting to show you how it turned out.

Kinky Twists

Hey guys! How are you today? I just wanted to stop by real quick to show you my first kinky twists. My mom wanted to work on her braiding techniques. It only took her 4 hours. So I’m pretty impressed, I will mostly let her practice on me again.

So this was the final look.

Twist Out Again

Hey guys. I have attempted to another twist out. This time around while i was untwisting them I used my Luster's Renurturing Slick Stick on my ends. I liked how it helped with my dry ends and left it moisturized. The only thing I didn't like about this twist out is that I did the twists/Bantu knots too big this time. It was real spaced out and it was slightly harder to get the look I wanted. For the look I put my hair up to the side. I  used hair pins to do this, but you could use something else: headbands or hair combs. To add a little something to it I used my butterfly clips. I got these from H&M, they were $4.00 or so. In the future I will be trying to do this look again with smaller twists to get different type of look. Tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions.

First Twist Out

Hey guys! So last night I decided to take my braids out. It was time for a change. I decided to try and do a twist out. But when I twist my hair the end ends dont stay, so I turned them into Bantu knots. I slept with them in over night. I took them out today, and this is the look I got. Tell me what you think and if you have any hair suggestions let me know.

Some very big news =]

Hey guys!
I have some amazing news to let you in on. I have decided to go natural. YAY! I've been debating this idea over and over for the last 3 years. I'm extremely excited that I have come to a decision on this topic.
I don't relax my hair cause when I was younger I tried it once and it broke off all my hair, that was about in '99. You couldn't even do anything with it at all. It was horrible, so at that time my mother decided I should cut all my hair off to a very low cut. It was sort of like that old Halle Berry look from back in the day. With that being done, my hairdresser suggested that I get my hair texturized. Which is basically a softer way of handling your hair compared to a relaxer. For me it basically just loosened up my curls, which made them easier to work it. So basically ever since then I've been getting my hair texturized.
In the beginning I would get it done every 4-6 weeks. As I got older and had to pay for it my self it stretch from every 3-4 months. So over the last 10-16 months I've had it done twice. I usually did it at the beginning of summer and at the end. See I was never a girl that really like doing their hair, I like to stay in single braids and cornrows. It would only be straight when I got it done at the hairdressers. So this how transitioning into being completely natural won't be such a big challenge-I think.
When I was first thinking about going natural I had wanted to become a Dread; which means having dreadlocks. I kept wanting to do it, I even booked 3 appointments to get it done. Which I never followed through on. I honestly do love the way they look, the only problem was that I like to change my hair alot. Like every summer for the past 3-4 years I do a big chop and get my hair textuzied. I love short and funky hair cuts. The whole idea of not being able to do that didn't really appeal to me after I thought about it real hard.
So lately I been seeing alot of people going natural, using all different type of methods. Some do the whole big chop and others just slowly transition into it. I'm really not a fan of the big chop. I know I just said I like short hair, but only when it's straight. Personally when I have short curly hair I look to much like my little brother and it bugs me, lol. With that being said and done, I believe that the best way for me to become truly natural is with transitioning into it.
I had my last texturizer done in July 2009, this was the first time I haven't cut off all my hair for the summer. I just had a baby girl, Victoria, in April and figured it would be to hard to keep up with that style at that time. Basically a week or two after I got my done I got my hair done in singles. Since that time I have been wearing alot of braids and cornrows, I haven't really noticed if my hair has grown. It was falling out right after I had the baby due to hormone changes in my body. With that all being said I will keep you guys informed about my journey on going natural.

Till next time!
